A first destination wedding video for Hawaiian Shirt Photography was the wedding of Manuela and Rodrigo at Fattoria il Santo Monticiano and Abbazia di San Galgano – Chiusdino.
Firstly let me say we want to do more destination weddings as it was fantastic. One of those weddings which you see in films where everyone is dancing by the pool but you rarely get to go to.
The bridal preparations and reecption were at Fattoria il Santo Monticiano. It was a stunning venue with amazing views of Italian countryside and vineyards. With the bride and groom both getting ready at the venue we were able to capture them both their preparations. One of our favourite shots is one where the groom is writing (or making last minute amends) to his speech. With morning preparations we try to get a variety of different angles to make the video more interesting as well as capturing the different aspects of getting ready.
The ceremony was at Abbazia di San Galgano. Translated in English as The Abbey of Saint Galgano was a Cistercian Monastery and is now a beautiful ruins. The ceremony was beautiful with heartfelt messages from the bride and groom spoken in both Italian and Spanish and the joy around the venue was clear to see.
The reception was outside Fattoria Il Santo Monticiano taking advance of the stunning views. It was a romantic setting and we were able to capture some lovely moments of affection among the wedding guests.
The wedding breakfast in true European style wasn’t until late in the evening and was a relaxed and merry affair with plenty of spontaneous outbursts of song. After a long and reaxed meal the party really started with plently of Tequilla consumed. The first dance was late and the light had faded but we were able to use our 1.8 lens to get some great footage even in the low light.
