Keri and Tom’s beautiful wedding was at the Tower Hamlets Registry Office and the The Space Theatre in London. We arrived early to scout out the area for some areas for the post wedding photographs and to capture the guests arriving for the ceremony. It’s always a time filled with great anticipation for the wedding ahead and makes for lovely photos.
The ceremony was quite small and intimate so we used our silent shutter mode in order to capture some great images while remaining unobtrusive. It was a ceremony filled with laughter and joy which comes through in our photographs. After the ceremony we took some group and couple shots outside in the garden and by the railings in front of the registry office. Everyone was in a great mood which really shows in the photographs especially the group shot. We try not to move people around too much in order to take the photos quickly before people get bored and stop smiling naturally.
Most of our London weddings this year seem to involve route-master buses and this was no exception and they are always an opportunity for some great shots.
On the way to the wedding reception we stopped off in a park by the river Thames for some photographs with the bride and groom. Keeping the shoot as quick as possible we were able to get some shots by the river.
The reception venue, The Space is a former Presbyterian church and now serves as a theatre and art space. The reception drinks were mostly outside in what was a beautiful spring day and above the theatre is a cute cafe bar called hubbub for those wishing to purchase a sneaky extra drink.
The wedding breakfast room was beautifully decorated with 3 long tables. Being a theatre there was a stage which provided the perfect place for the speeches.
One the most challenging parts of wedding photography is the first dance. Sometimes you have a matter of seconds before the bride and groom invite everyone else on to the dance floor. We were very pleased with the photographs we took of Keri and Tom’s first dance and they definitely show the love between the couple.
